Tengchong is a predominantly Han town located along the old southwestern silk route, sharing a 148km border with Myanmar to the northwest. The history of Tengchong can be traced back to the Han Dynasty, around 100 BC. For 2000 years, it was an important station along the old southwestern silk route.
The Mount Yunfeng of Tengchong is a renowned Taoist mountain in the west of Yunnan Province. It is called "Yunfeng" (meaning "cloud peak") for its three sharp and straight peaks pointing to the sky.
The Heshun Folk Restaurant is located in an ancient four-side-five-yard and horse-owner style house, which is about 100 years old.
