Top Chinese political advisor: China willing to further boost China- Ethiopia ties (2)

Thirdly, the two sides should increase people-to-people exchanges and lay a solid ground for friendship. Fourthly, the two sides should strengthen multilateral cooperation to promote peace and development, and to improve coordination on major international issues such as international financial system reform and climate change.

Jia also highly appreciated the role Ethiopia played in promotion of unity, stability and development of Africa, adding that China will make joint efforts with Ethiopia to push forward the new type of China-Africa strategic partnership to a new level.

Meles said Jia's visit to Ethiopia during the Chinese traditional Spring Festival shows brotherhood between the two countries.

He also expressed the gratitude for China's contribution in promoting China-Ethiopia ties and supporting Ethiopia's social and economic development. Ethiopia plans to send more technicians to China for training, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in the country, Meles added.

After the meeting, Jia and Meles attended the signing ceremony of China-Ethiopia economy and trade cooperation agreement.
