Nanjing Yangtze Fourth Bridge to open on Dec.24 (4)

With an investment of 6.8 billion yuan, the Nanjing Yangtze Fourth Bridge stretches 29 kilometer with a river-cross length of 5.5 kilometer, whose main span of the bridge is adopted three-span suspension bridge scheme.

The whole line of the bridge uses expressway standard design with dual six-lane carriageway. Cars’ running speed on the river-crossing bridge is designed to be around 100 kilometers an hour, which is designed 120 kilometers per hour at the connection of both side of the bridge.

The Nanjing Yangtze Fourth Bridge is the largest span bridge with the twin-tower three-span suspension bridge design nationwide. With the 1,418-meter main span, 130 meters longer than the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, it ranks the third longest among the similar bridge structure in the world.
