Trip Planner: Admiring Milan in all its finery (3)

By Caterina Bernardini de Pace (Shanghai Daily)

Midnight

You are not ready to go to bed? OK, let's go to Armani Prive on Via Manzon. This is a very exclusive club where you can have fun with your friends. The music is pretty nice, the ambience really chic. But if you don't want to face the indignation of being turned away because it's full, put your name on the list in advance. If you arrive there a bit late, it can be difficult to get in.

Armani Prive closes at 3am. The next step is up to you…

3am

If you are not completely partied out yet (though hard to believe!), you don't have to go home quite yet. Just keep on dancing, as Milan has so many clubs.

Two of the most popular are The Club next to Corso Garibaldi and Hollywood on Corso Como, with pumping music and packed dancefloors. To be honest, from a design point of view they're nothing special. These are really for 24-hour party people who love clubs and dancing until dawn.

5:30am

Your 24 hours are almost at an end. If you want to finish your day as real Milanese do and you feel a little bit hungry after your long night at the club, just take a taxi and head to the front of the Milan's court. Don't worry, you're not going to end up behind bars. But in front of the court you can get delicious sandwiches from Gabri.

You'll find it easily, because you'll see a lot of people standing there having their post-club sandwich.

And if you're too tired from all your clubbing exertions to choose which type of sandwich you want, just say "panino con la salamella" - it's a kind of sausage, but much, much better.

Your day in Milan is now over, but see how many things you can do in 24 hours?!

If you go

Where to stay

Hotel Principe di Savoia

This five-star hotel overlooking Piazza della Repubblica counts the likes of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Hollywood star George Clooney among former guests. One of the Dorchester Collection, it offers the traditional hospitality of a good resort in an unapologetically urban setting. Immense thought has gone into the design which is evident in the details of the room. (Piazza della Repubblica 17)

Hotel Straf

This design hotel combines the extreme functionality of a minimalist high-tech style, blended with the warm atmosphere of the rooms. Some of the 64 rooms and suites have balconies with unbeatable views of the Milan Cathedral. (Via San Raffaele 3)
