Recently, all circles of Chinese in Japan are concerned about a Chinese overseas student suffering from Leukemia. On December 15, sponsored by Chinese people in Japan, an activity called “A Drop of Blood, A Hope of Life” was held outside the Musashino Branch of Tokyo Red Cross Society. 97 Chinese from across Japan came to the site for the blood test, so as to be registered in the marrow donor program and help Liu Mengying, a 24-year-old girl from Zhengzhou, central China’s Henan Province. Liu is a patient of acute myelocytic leukemia. Undergoing the second stage of chemotherapy, she can only stay in the Bioclean Treatment Unit and communicate with people outside through glass windows by the phone. She is the only foreign patient in the hospital. (Chinanews/Photo by Gao Yue) |
