On December 19, the Tongling Yangze River Combined Bridge in central China’s Anhui province was successfully joined.

This bridge plays a key role in the Jingfu High Speed Railway (from Beijing to Fuzhou, capital of southeast China’s Fujian province.

With a main span of 630 meters, the bridge has exceeded Tianxingzhou Yangze River Combined Bridge with main span of 504 meters in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei province, representing a new record on the span length of railway and highway combined bridge in the world.

The Tongling Yangze River Combined Bridge is 51.2 kilometers long, and its main bridge crossing the Yangze River is 1290 meters long.

It is a cable-stayed bridge with two towers and five spans. The bridge has two layers: the under layer is the four-track line for Jingfu High Speed Railway and Lutong Railway (From Lujiang to Tongling, both cities in Anhui province), and the upper layer is a six-lane highway.
