6. Thomas Bach was elected as the IOC president
Thomas Bach was elected as the ninth president of the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) on the final day of the 125th IOC Session on Sept. 10. Earlier, wrestling was voted back into the Olympic program and Tokyo won the bid to host the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
