Two-year-old Chinese girl donated organs to save four lives (4)

A two-year-old girl named Qiqi whose life came to an end due to brain dead on Feb 22, 2014. She was then sent to the operating room in the third hospital of Hebei medical university. Two kidneys, a liver and two corneas of were removed to save the four patients in China who suffered from organ failure and blindness. Qiqi was the youngest donor in Hebei province.

Qiqi was born in a remote village in south China’s Hunan province on Nov 21, 2011. She then was diagnosed as severe congenital heart disease. Qiqi’s father is a migrant worker in Shijiazhuang, the capital city of Hebei province. He brought Qiqi to the provincial Children's Hospital for medical treatment. However, Qiqi was very sick. An infection in her lungs led to a respiratory failure and heart failure. After hearing about Qiqi 's irreversible condition, the parents made a difficult decision to donate their daughter’s organs.

Life is short for Qiqi, but in this way can her life be regained and rejuvenated.
