Blossoms of nearly 2,000 cherry trees draw visitors to the cherry blossom festival at Beijing’s Jade Lake Park. (People’s Daily Online/ Gao Yinan)

Jade Lake Park, also known as Yu Yuantan Park, is famous for cherry blossom festival held every March and April. The festival draws huge crowds, with over a million people attending the park every spring. Standing amid the sea of vivid pink blossoms of cherry, you can see that spring has come.

Time recommended:
First stage (early cherry blossoms): late March, and only 7 days for appreciation.
Second stage (late cherry blossoms): from mid April to late April

Admission: 10 yuan/person during the cherry blossom festival
Other time: 2 yuan/person. Seniors of 65 years old and above can visit the Park free with the senior certificates for preferential treatment (excluding the gardens in the park as well as occasions when big events are held).

Address: No. 10, Xisanhuanzhonglu, Haidian District, Beijing (Yuyuantan)
Opening time: from 6 am (the park opens) to 8:30 pm (ticket office closes).
