Internet shopping is very popular nowadays, and you have only published above-designated-size enterprises' online retail sales. But the online retail sale of enterprises under the designated size, which covers a wide range of areas, has not been shown. Will it be indicated in the total retail sales of social consumer goods? And when will the National Bureau of Statistics release this data? Thanks!

Sheng Laiyun: Thank you for your questions. It is true that the National Bureau of Statistics has released the above- designated-size enterprises' online retail sales data for the first time. It also indicates that the bureau is actively improving its approaches and systems, in order to reflect the new trends in China's economy as soon as possible. The data we released today basically reflect the retail sales volume of above-designated-size enterprises through public Internet trade platforms. In terms of sellers, retail sales can be divided into several parts: The first is big above-designated-size enterprises, which we surveyed them completely. The second is small enterprises below the designated size, which are formal and have operation licenses. So they will be included in our basic enterprise directory list, and we will sample survey them to reflect a part of online sales. Another category is the many individuals who are selling things online but without licenses, so they cannot be included in the directory and we hardly know about them. So we initially decided to use a big data approach to explore information for this part.

The National Bureau of Statistics is ahead of time in terms of using a big data approach, we act very early. We have signed strategic agreements with Alibaba and JD.com, which provided big data services. We hope we can use the data from their online platforms to compensate for the disadvantages in us. We propose using big data to further improve and change the direction for the statistics survey system. Regarding retail sales, we will "categorize sellers into three parts, survey both sellers and buyers, and take a general survey as the foundation, supported by big data." We hope we can use these approaches to either reflect the situations of buyers or collect seller information using surveys. Through general statistics, we can remedy our limitations in collecting the data of below-designated-size enterprises, which is hard to collect.
