Rare “ghost plants” found flourishing in SW China’s Yunnan after discovery in nature reserve

Monotropa uniflora, also known as the “ghost plant,” was spotted and photographed for the first time in the Daweishan National Nature Reserve located in southwest China’s Yunnan Province. The plant is the prototype for the “ghost flower” as seen in many Chinese wuxia (martial heroes) novels.

Yunnan’s nature reserve releases HD pictures of critically endangered green peafowl

The Konglonghe Nature Reserve in Shuangbai county, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China’s Yunnan Province recently released a set of high-definition images of green peafowl, one of the rarest and most endangered wild animals in the world. Green peafowl, the only peafowl species native to China, is under first-class national protection in the country.

China National Botanical Garden in Beijing enters best time of year for admiring blooming flowers

Now is the best time of year to enjoy blooming flowers, including beautiful tulips, peach flowers, and crabapple flowers, during a stroll through the National Botanical Garden in Beijing. After undergoing expansion plans, the National Botanical Garden was officially unveiled to the public on April 18.
