New Party Chief for N. China Province

Wang Xudong was elected secretary of the provincial committee of the Communist Party of China in Hebei Province, north China, Tuesday.

Wang Xudong was elected secretary of the provincial committee of the Communist Party of China in Hebei Province, north China, Tuesday.

Wang's nomination came at the first plenary meeting of the sixth provincial CPC committee which also elected five deputy secretaries, Niu Maosheng, Zhao Shiju, Liu Dewang, Zhangyi and Feng Wen Hai.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the provincial commission for disciplinary inspections of the CPC also elected Zhang Yi as secretary and five other people as deputy secretaries.
