U.S. President George W.Bush had four non-cancerous lesions removed from his face last week, the White House announced on Monday.
White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said doctors used liquid nitrogen to remove the lesions during a brief procedure on Friday at the White House. Bush had one lesion on each cheek, his forehead and temple.
The lesions were removed from Bush's cheek as a precaution, and they posed no threat to the president's health, Fleischer said.
"For a man his age, when you're out in the sun a lot as a young man, I'm told this is extremely common," he said.
