Former French President Visits Shanghai

Former French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing arrived in Shanghai Tuesday to attend the annual China- France Economic Seminar, leading a delegation of the France-China Committee of his country.

Former French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing arrived in Shanghai Tuesday to attend the annual China- France Economic Seminar, leading a delegation of the France-China Committee of his country.

The delegation will stay in Shanghai April 2-4.

The two-day seminar will discuss such issues as finance, insurance and securities, and Sino-French cooperation in these fields.

The delegation met with Shanghai Mayor Chen Liangyu and visited the Shanghai Stock Exchange Tuesday.

The seminar is co-organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the France-China Committee.
