Police Starting DNA Test to Identify Victims

Local police has started DNA tests to identify victims of an air crash that happened Tuesday night in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.

Local police has started DNA tests to identify victims of an air crash that happened Tuesday night in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.

The rescue workers have found over 50 bodies by 1:25 a.m. Wednesday at the site of the air crash off the coast.

The local civil affairs department was transporting the bodies to mortuary for further investigation.

A China Northern Airlines MD-82 plane carrying 103 passengers and 9 crew crashed into the sea Tuesday night after a fire broke out in the cabin.

More than 30 rescue ships were put into high gear to the crash site. The first dead body was found at 23:43 Tuesday night.

The rescue work is still underway. It is estimated, however, that there is little hope of any survivor.
