Yao Ming leads China's Olympic basketball squad

China Basketball Association (CBA) announced the long-expected list of 18-member squad for the Athens Olympics Wednesday, March 3, 2004. Wang Zhizhi of Miami Heat was excluded from the squad.

The Chinese Basketball Association(CBA) on Wednesday named an 18-man squad spearheaded by Houston Rockets center Yao Ming for the Athens Olympic Games.

Squad:

Li Ke, Li Nan, Chen Ke, Zhang Jinsong, Fan Bin, Mo Ke, Yi Jianlian, Du Feng, Zhu Fangyu, Menk Bateer, Jiao Jian, Zhang Yunsong, Wang Bo, Yao Ming, Liu Wei, Tang Zhengdong, Hu Xuefeng, Xue Yuyang;

Team leader: Kuang Lubin (China);

Technique director: Jiang Xingquan (China);

Head coach: Del Harris (United States);

Assistant coach: Jonas Kazlauskas (Lithuania), A Dijiang (China), Min Lulei (China);

Doctor: Du Wenliang (China);

Interpreter: Ye Qinghui, Xu Jicheng, Xia Song;

The national team will begin preparations for the Athens Olympic on March 16.
