Being a renowned Taoist Mountain in China, Wudang Mountain is also well known for its martial arts in the world. Deep rooted in the soil of the Taoist Philosophy, the Wudang martial arts takes preserving health as its tenet. Deriving from Taoist theories, the Wudang martial arts contain profound philosophic theories. However, ordinary people hardly have a chance to see the Wudang martial arts, because the martial arts, in the past 600 years, is secretly passed from one generation to another amongst the practitioners.

Last year, the Wudang Mountains Special Zone invested more than one million yuan to employ 16 talents of Wudang martial arts from across the country. Special martial arts performance is developed by these talents so that tourists demands can be satisfied. The group now gives two martial arts performances every day, where tourists can watch 18 programs free of charge. The performance features traditional Wudang escrime, "Taiyixiaoyaozhang", "Taiyimianzhang" "Taijiquan" and "13 patterns of Taiji". These programs have become a new spotlight of Wudang Mountain tours.
