World Carnival coming to Beijing
font size

The World Carnival is coming to Beijing's International Sculpture Park between June 22nd and August 26th, promising to spice up a hot Beijing summer.

The newly opened park in western Beijing is just next door to CRI's headquarters.

The 2004 show will focus on Beijing's 2008 Olympics Games. There will be more than 150 performances as well as street entertainers and gastronomic delights.

Organizer of the event, the Hong Kong-based World Carnival Company, brought the carnival to Beijing after its mainland debut in Shanghai last year.

Shanghai's 78-day World Carnival in 2003 attracted more than 2 million visitors, earning 240 million yuan or about 29 million US dollars.

Ticket prices for the Beijing carnival have not yet been announced but tickets at last year's Shanghai carnival were sold for 50 yuan.
