Israeli Jewish settlers protest against evacuation
font size

About 200 settlers are reported to be convening in the West Bank Tuesday to protest against the planned evacuation of outposts by soldiers and police, Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post said.

Last week, the Israeli Defense Ministry confirmed that five illegal outposts - Mitzpe Yitzhar, Havat Shaked, Givat Apirion, Tal Binyamin, and Ginot Aryeh - were slated to be removed, but it did not give a time line.

Orders for their removal had been issued earlier this year but then delayed until the High Court of Justice denied a petition protesting their removal.

Last June, 15 settlers were arrested when an outpost was evacuated for the first time.
