Arab summit to be held on May 22-23 in Tunis: AL chief

The postponed Arab summit will be held on May 22-23 in Tunis, capital of Tunisia, Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said here Sunday.

"The Arab summit will take place on the agreed date, which hasnot changed," Moussa told a press conference after the fourthworking meeting of Arab foreign ministers.

The ministers on Sunday continued their meetings for the secondconsecutive day to prepare for the coming Arab summit that had beententatively scheduled for May 22-23.

The summit of the 22-member Arab League, which had beenscheduled on March 29-30, was postponed by the host Tunisia due todifferences among Arab countries over regional situation andpolitical reforms.

Following consultations among regional countries, Moussaannounced last month that most Arab leaders have agreed toreconvene their summit on May 22-23, still in Tunisia.
