Number of Internet users in China ranks 2nd in the world

The number of Internet users reaches 80 million in China in 2003, ranking the second in the world and is only next to US. China's Internet users number will become No. 1 in the world within five years, says a latest report on China's Internet prepared by Morgan Stanley.

The report says that Internet caters for needs of the Chinese youngsters, and the cost is bearable. Most importantly, mobile phones can be connected with Internet. In this way numerous Chinese users are able to send short message, play online games, retrieve information and contact with others via Internet. Therefore the popularity of wireless short message and online game is more popular in China than in US.
