Pakistan vows to work with Indian new govtPakistan Thursday expressed hope that the peace process with India would not be affected, followingreports of defeat of the Indian ruling party BJP in the general elections. "Pakistan desires peaceful and cooperative relations with Indiaand looks forward to renewing the quest for promoting peace and stability in South Asia with the new government in India," said a senior official of the Pakistani Foreign Office. The Foreign Office official was commenting on the results of the Indian elections. "Pakistan will endeavor to seek a peaceful settlement of all outstanding issues between the two countries including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute," the official said in a statement issued here. Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's ruling Hindu nationalist party Thursday conceded defeat after unofficial results indicated the Congress Party in a lead.
