A total of 27 persons from various countries and regions including Nepalese Sherpa guides have successfully scaled Mount Qomolangma in recent two days, according to a press release issued Sunday by the Nepali Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

A seven-member joint team of the United States and Canada including two Nepalese Sherpa guides successfully climbed the highest peak of the world Saturday from its southeast ridge.

Similarly, a five-member team consisted of one American and four Sherpas, a five-member Malaysian team including three Sherpas and a Greek team also successfully scaled the 8,848-meter high mount from its southeast ridge on Sunday.

Climbers from 13 expedition teams on the mount's southeast ridge were forced to descend to base camps and postponed their attempts to scale the summit last week due to high-speed winds and deteriorating weather condition.

More than 1,000 mountaineers have scaled Mount Qomolangma so far, while nearly 200 climbers have lost their lives during their attempts.
