font size

French playmaker Zinedine Zidane said in Coimbra after their side's 3-1 victory over Switzerland in the Euro 2004 Group B match on Monday that the whole team were back on the track

"You always can improve one or two things in your strategy," the Madrid playmaker said. "We are through and it's the most important matter. France have done their duty."

France, the defending champions of this tournament tied with Croatia in their second match after their lucky 2-1 win over England.

"After tying with Croatia, we've been under pressure, but we kept our confidence, and see, we made it."

Topped in Group B after beating Switzerland, France stepped into the quarter-finals of Euro 2004.

Zidane was also pleased to see Henry bag his first two goals of the tournament, after looking off-form in France's first two games against England and Croatia.

"It's good news to learn he's scoring goals again," Zidane said. "We are happy, just like he certainly must be."
