Devin Harris notched 18 points and had six assists to lead the Dallas Mavericks summer league team to a 92-63 victory over the Chinese national team at Frisco of Texas on Sunday in Washington.
Without Yao Ming on the court, Mavericks won the third game in a three-game series after clinching the second game.
Yao, the Houston Rockets' center, missed his second straight game with an injury to his left big toe. He will accompany the team back to China on Monday as they prepare for the Summer Olympics.
Harris, the Mavericks' first round draft pick, shot 6-of-10 from the field. Didier Ilunga-Mbenga scored 16 points for the Mavericks, including a two-handed dunk on an alley-oop pass from Harris in the fourth quarter. Howard finished with 15 points.
The Mavericks led for all but three minutes of the game. They opened the game on 15-5 run with Harris and Josh Howard collecting all 15. The Chinese national team was held to only one field goal in the first nine minutes. Dallas shot 51.3 percent from the field compared to 26.5 for China.
Chen Ke led the Chinese national team with 16 points, all scored in the first half. He shot 4-of-5 from the field and hit five free throws. The rest of the team shot only 2-of-20 in the first half. Ye Jianlian was only other Chinese national team player to finish in double figures with 11 points.
