Both Peru and Colombia qualified for the second round of Copa America soccer tournament as they played to a 2-2 draw and Bolivia tied Venezuela 1-1 earlier in Trujillo, Peru on Monday.
The hosts scored two goals in three minutes for a 2-2 draw against defending champions Colombia, the second time in three matches that Peru have come back from a two-goal deficit.
The result kept Colombia top of Group A with seven points from three games, while Peru finish with five for the second position, which has been ensured after a 1-1 draw between Bolivia and Venezuela.
Colombia took the lead in the 33rd minute when striker Edwin Congo headed in a long cross from the right to beat keeper Oscar Ibanez.
Abel Aguilar doubled Colombia's lead eight minutes into the second half when the 19-year-old midfielder fired in from seven meters.
But Reinaldo Rueda's young side wasted their comfortable lead, allowing Peru to grab back two quick goals.
Captain and playmaker Nolberto Solano scored his free kick in the 57th minute and striker Flavio Maestri nodded in a cross three minutes later to equalise.
Peru, who came back from a two-goal deficit in their group A opener with Bolivia, missed several chances to take the lead in the first half.
Striker Andres Mendoza hit the crossbar in the 22nd minute.
Keeper Juan Carlos Henao saved Colombia from a third Peruvian goal in the 65th minute when he tipped over a fiery long range shot by Solano.
