A TV channel Oriental Kids was launched yesterday with a five-hour live evening performance. Shanghai Deputy Party Secretary Yin Yicui announced the official launch of the channel.

After more than one month of preparations, the channel, with principals of healthiness, intelligence, kindheartedness and humor, will try best to speak for children and allow them to speak for themselves, said an industry analyst.

As the 12th professional channel under the Shanghai Media Group, Oriental Kids is designated to raise the moral standing of the minors.
