Income of urban residents rose 8.7 percent in first half

A sample survey by the State Statistics Bureau on 50,000 urban households showed that the per capita disposable income of China's urban dwellers in the first half was 4,815 yuan, up 11.9 percent from the same period of the last year, or a growth of 8.7 percent in real term and 0.3 percent higher than the growth of last year. The per capita expenditure was 3,484 yuan, rising 12.0 percent or 8.7 percent in real term, being at the same level with income.

Viewing from the income sources, the per capita salary income was 3,654 yuan, 12.3 percent higher than the same period of the previous year. The business net income was 248 yuan, up 25.9 percent. The property income stood at 87 yuan, up 21.3 percent, including 44 yuan from housing renting, (62.6 percent up), and 23 yuan as dividend (8.9 percent up). The transfer income was 1,165 yuan, up 10.1 percent, or 22.6 percent of household total income. Of the transfer income over 70 percent were old-age or retirement pensions, up 11.2 percent.

By the end of June, each hundred households had 2.04 cars, 0.95 higher than the previous year and a growth of 71.4 percent. Each hundred households had 107 mobile phones, rising 28.1 percent.
