Men's 56kg weightlifting: Turkish Mutlu wins gold, Chinese Wu silver

Turkey's Halil Mutlu lifted his third Olympic gold medal when he won the men's 56kg weightlifting at the 28th Olympic Games on August 14.

With 135kg from snatch and 160kg from jerk, Mutlu, who named himself as "Little Naim" after his idol Naim Suleymanoglu, secured

the gold with a total of 295kgs.

China's Wu Meijin was second at 287.5 and Sedat Artuc, also from Turkey, finished third at 280.

Results of men's 56kg weighlifting at Athens Olympics

Following are the results of men's 56kg weightlifting at the 28th Olympic Games Sunday evening:

1. Halil Mutlu, Turkey, 295kg (135/160)

2. Wu Meijin, China, 287.5 (130/157.5)

3. Sedat Artuc, Turkey, 280 (125/155)

4. Vitali Dzerbianiou, Belarus, 280 (127.5/152.5)

5. Oscar Labeiro Figueroa, Colombia, 280 (125/155)

6. Adrian Ioan Jigau, Romania, 275 (120/155)

7. Laszlo Tancsics, Hungary, 272.5 (122.5/150)

8. Jadi Setiadi, Indonesia, 262.5 (117.5/145)
