US women footballers held 1-1 by Australia

The U.S. women's soccer team tied with the Australian squad 1-1 in the final match of group G in Kaftanzoglio Stadium, in Thessaloniki, on Tuesday, both moving to the next round.

The U.S. women opened the scoring 19 minute into the game through Kristine Lilly, but minutes before the end of the second

half, Australia's Joanne Peters leveled the score with a powerful header in the 81st minute.The draw added another point to the Americans, who have collected seven points from the group, while Australia have four points.
