Famous martial arts writer Liang Yusheng will be granted an Honorary Doctorate by Hong Kong's Lingnan University.

Recognized as one of the most successful martial arts writers ever, Liang Yusheng will be granted an Honorary Doctorate in November by Hong Kong's Lingnan University, from where he originally graduated in 1948, China Radio International reported Saturday.

The 80-year old writer feels excited at gaining this honorary title of doctor of arts, saying the education he received in his Alma Mater, such as the study of light literature, nurtured and greatly inspired him to write martial arts novels.

The writer has created a total of 36 martial arts novels, of which Bride with White Hair and Lofty Waters Verdant Bow are the most famous.

Lingnan University decided to grant the veteran writer the title for his contribution in literary development.

Along with him, three other outstanding figures will also be granted Honorary Doctorate for their contribution to Chinese society, including the well-known businessman Fang Runhua.
