Sarunas Jasikevicius chipped off Lithuania's last 10 points en route to a 94-90 victory over "Dream team" of United States Sunday in the Athens Olympic men's basketball tournament.
Jasikevicius became the hero of Lithuania as he hit a pair of three-pointers, a field shot and two free throws in the last three minutes to help Lithuania overtake the Americans for the victory.
The "Dream Team" led all the game but failed to sustain a comfortable margin as they only made eight three-pointers in 21 attempts, while Lithuania enjoyed 13-27.
The two sides tied 84-84 when Jasikevicius, who had been hot all night, buried a three-pointer to make his team lead for the second time in the night.
Jasikevicius, who led the game with 28 points, then made another three-pointer to totally scatter the Americans' hope to catch up.
Saulius Stombergas paced Lithuania with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Ramunas Siskauskas added 14 points and Eurelijus Zukauskas 11.
Richard Jefferson led the Americans with 20 points and Tim Duncan added 16 and 12 rebounds.
