Lauryn Williams of the United States, 20, took the silver with a personal best of 10.96 seconds and Jamaica's Veronica Campbell won the bronze in 10.97. Nesterenko had not achieved impressive results before coming to Athens but a third-place finish in this year's World Indoor Championships.
