CNOOC finds new oil, gas reserve

As learned from China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), they have confirmed the commercial potential of the oil and natural gas findings at Weizhou (WZ) 11-1, well completion has been successfully done at the evaluation well at WZ 11-1N-2 drilled in the western waters in South China Sea.

Over 3, 000 barrels of oil and 340, 000 cubic feet of natural gas can be produced out of the well per day. Previously, CNOOC has also launched drill rod two tests previously at the finding well Jinzhou (JZ) 21-1S-1 in Bohai Bay Region, recording daily outputs of 700 and 500 barrels respectively, an indication of the exploitation potential of that area.
