Nong Duc Manh, general-secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), sent a congratulatory message Monday to Chinese President Hu Jintao for becoming the chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Sunday.
In his message, Nong said Hu's new status as China's military leader showed the trust of the CPC, the Chinese armed forces and the Chinese people in Hu as well as in the current leadership of the CPC.
Nong expressed his confidence that under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the Chinese people will make great achievements in the new period, accomplish the cause of national modernization and realize the goal of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.
The CPV, the Vietnamese government and the Vietnamese people will continue to attach importance to the traditional friendly relations with the CPC, the Chinese government and Chinese people,Nong said, adding his country is determined to make efforts to push bilateral ties to a new level in accordance with the policy shaped by the top leaders of the two countries.
Hu Jintao, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and president of China, succeeded Jiang Zemin as chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission at the Fourth Plenum of the 16th CPC Central Committee, which concluded here Sunday.
