The success of Paris' bid for Olympic Games 2012 would bring an exceptional development for France for at least 6 years, said Jean-Francois Lamour, French minister for Youth and Sports on September 21.
The French minister said he had made bet to do all efforts in order not to fail the bid at the vote previewed on July 6, 2005 by he International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The potential development derives from the Olympic Games in the fields of sports and tourism is estimated at 5 billion euros (about 6.615 billion US dollars) per year during a period of six years with the creation of 40,000 temporary jobs, said the minister.
The holding of Olympic Games in Paris would bring a strong growth of sportive activities with more than 4 million new sporters in long term, including some 600,000 in clubs.
"It's an appointment not to be failed. The occasion of a deep recasting, the possibility to see the development of sports in ten years...The Olympic Games in Paris is an organizing tool of our policy," said Lamour.
Besides Paris, four other cities are now running for holding the Olympic Games 2012. They are London, Madrid, Moscow and New York.
