With the week-long national holiday only one day away, many Chinese people have started their travel plans. A sharp increase in passengers appeared in airports, railroad stations, and on highways and waterways.

In airline, since Monday, scheduled flights in Beijing Capital International Airport have exceeded 900 shifts, transporting 120,000 passengers everyday. The traffic volume in the airports of Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu have increased over 10 percent than the same period of last year. Airline authority warns that the tickets for some hot scenic spots before October 3, including Sichuan Jiuzaigou, Yunnan Lijiang and Xishuangbanna have been selling out.

In railway, authority estimated that 4 million passengers nationwide will take trains to travel today. In Beijing railway station, four extra trains to Shanghai, Haerbin and Qingdao, Xi'an were newly launched today to ease up the travel peak. In Southeast China, the railway stations in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou newly opened over extra ticket windows.

Short distance routes travellers chose buses or drive autos by themselves, making obvious increase on traffic volume in highways, 25 percent cars more than the normal times appear in the roads linking major cities and travel destinations.

In water route, extra passenger boats and pleasure boats have been put into service.
