One Chinese hostage freed, one killed
Wang Ende, one of Chinese hostages, is greeted by Chinese Ambassador Zhang Chunxiang and his colleagues after freed unhurt. A Chinese engineer held hostage by al Qaeda-linked militants in Pakistan was killed on Thursday but his colleague was rescued in a commando assault that killed their five kidnappers.

Four sentenced for web porn in Beijing
Four men were sentenced to termed imprisonment on Oct 14, 2004 in Beijing for creating and profiting from pornographic websites. The case is the first online smut case in China since the country kicked off a national fight against sexually oriented websites in mid-2004.

PAF rehearses in Wuhan
The French stunt flying team, Patrouille de France had a rehearsal at the Tianhe Airport of Wuhan, Captial of Central China's Hubei Province on Oct 14. The formal show will take place on Oct 16 in Wuhan. After that the PAF will leave for Hong Kong and Zhuhai to give performances.
