China and Russia signed a joint statement on Thursday to share their views on maintaining world security and boosting global cooperation.
The two sides believed that Afghanistan should be built into a sovereign state free from terrorism and drugs and a sovereign state with friendly and peaceful relations with its neighbors and the international community.
The top concern of Afghanistan issue is to secure local security and to grant the country all-round support under the auspices of the United Nations, noted the statement.
The two sides also agreed to make concerted efforts to prevent the spread of narcotics from Afghanistan to other countries and toactively participate in anti-narcotics actions in the periphery ofAfghanistan.
China and Russia expressed their welcome toward the dialogue scheme established between India and Pakistan. Peaceful resolutionof their disputes will help India and Pakistan strengthen mutual trust, enlarge trade exchange, open new transportation routes and gradually bring them to all-round cooperation. It's also good to the peace and security of South Asia, said the statement.
Meanwhile, China and Russia also expressed their common wish in the statement to start bilateral and multilateral cooperation withother countries and regions so as to better secure Asia-Pacific peace and stability.
The statement said that the Shanghai Cooperative Organization has made a good proposal to encourage the establishment of a representative cooperative partnership within the Asia-Pacific region.
China and Russia should take concrete methods to materialize the proposal. All members of the cooperative partnership should enjoy equal rights, noted the statement.
The statement also stressed that regional fora of the Association of South-East Asian Nations are the most important channels for security dialogues among governments in Asia-Pacific region.
China reiterated its support to Russia in participating in multilateral dialogue and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and respect its wish to expand regional cooperation through the Asia-Europe Meeting, "10+3" (ASEAN and China, Republic of Korea and Japan) and other collaborative schemes.
