font size

Iran needs to show the world itspeaceful intentions over its nuclear issue, a visiting US officialsaid here on Monday, the official WAM news agency reported.   At a press conference, US Assistant Secretary of State forPolitical and Military Affairs Lincoln Bloomfield said "it isnecessary for Iran to demonstrate to the world its peacefulintentions. The only way to do that is to come clean."   The US official, who arrived here Sunday on an official visit tothe United Arab Emirates, noted that Washington does not harbor anyintention against Iran but only underscores the dangers posed byits nuclear activities.

"I think what we have said expresses the same feelings of all ofIran's neighbors. They are very uncomfortable with this nuclearactivity and will be much happier if Iran decides to reassure thewhole world of its intentions", Bloomfield said.

The United States has been accusing Iran of secretly developingnuclear weapons, which was vehemently denied by Tehran.
