Multimedia industry to be key industry in China
font size

Multimedia will become a key industry of the Chinese economy.

Director of the Beijing Multimedia Industry Association Chen Xinxiang predicts that China's multimedia industry will produce over 1,500 billion yuan worth of services and products by 2010 and become the country's leading key industry, reported China Radio International.

China began to develop its multimedia industry ten years later than other countries, but the industry has great potential and is improving very quickly.

The output value of the Chinese multimedia industry is expected to reach 400 billion yuan next year.

By 2008 it may reach 900 billion and surpass the communications industry to become the key industry in the IT field.

The Chinese multimedia industry has already formed an integrated chain industry, with such things as images, cartoons, graphs, messages, online education and publications.
