Chinese soccer needed to enhance fundamental training on skills or to continue to pay a lot on those unavoidable losses, said Coerver Coaching's co-founder Alfred Galustian in Hong Kong, October 21.
Galustian, considered as one of the top technical coaches for his great contribution to French and Japanese soccer, came to Hong Kong for second successive year to introduce the renowned Coerver Coaching training program.
Galustian told Xinhua that he was worried about Chinese soccer and its future. "If China fail to beat Hong Kong with enough goals to Kuwait, they're not going to Germany, " said Galustian.
"I think fundamental training and coaching is very important to China. I believe Chinese Football Association has realized, otherwise they will pay more prices, very big prices!"
"It needs time, a long time. I think at least ten years for China to improve their soccer from a basic training program," added Galustian, who had worked with French Football Association and Japanese Football Association, etc. to help them build up a individual technical training program.
Galustian believed that Coerver Coaching is what the Chinese soccer needs at this time.
"Coerver Coaching is unique because it doesn't run teams," said Galustian. "It focuses on individual skills.
"Improving individual skills is the foundation that all other aspects of the game can be built upon, and this is what the Chinese soccer needs, " added Galustian.
Galustian is also employed as a consultant by many famous professional clubs including Real Madrid, Arsenal and AC Milan, teaching coaches technical training with Coerver Coaching content.
