font size

A part of the south-to-north water diversion project in Jiangsu Province, the pumping station at Jietai, a part of the Luomahu Lake to Nansihu Lake section starts construction on Oct 24. This is another project of the east route following the Sanyanghe Baoying project, Jiping drainage canal project in Shandong Province. It signifies the construction of the east route of the south-to-north water diversion project will be in full swing.

In the east route of the project, water will be diversed from the lower reaches of the Yangtze River to the eastern part of the Huanghuaihai plain, and finally arrives in Tianjin. The section from Luomahu Lake to Nansihu Lake compromises two routes with designed water diversion speed of 200 to 250 cubic meters per second. The project in Jiangsu Province is mainly to renovate and expand three pumping stations at Liushan, Jietai and Linjiaba respectively. Through the three pumping stations, water will flow into the Nansihu Lake at last. The total investment of the project is 626 million yuan and the project will be completed in 2.5 years.
