Changsha bus blast injures over 40 people

An explosion aboard a bus injured more than 40 passengers, seven of them in critical condition, on Tuesday in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan province.

The blast occurred at 1:00pm on the Bus Xiang A-04337 at the Jieyuan Road Juncture on the Shaoshan Road. All the injured were rushed to the Changsha Central Hospital, according to a report by rednet.com.cn.

Leading officials of Hunan Province and Changsha City rushed to the scene to organize and direct rescue efforts. Public order at the site has been maintained and traffic has resumed to the normal.

A special team has been organized by local police to investigate into the cause of the explosion.
