During a meeting with British Foreign Office Minister Bill Rammell, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing says he hopes China and Britain can further push bilateral relations, China Radio International reported Wednesday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing hopes China and Britain can further push the healthy development of bilateral relations. During a meeting with visiting British Foreign Office Minister Bill Rammell, Li Zhaoxing said the two countries have decided to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership, which will bring Sino-British ties to a new high.

He hopes the two sides can continue to strengthen mutual understanding and trust to seriously deal with issues of common concern.

Rammell says the frequent high-level contacts and political consultations are conducive to reaching consensus for the two countries' leaders on important international and regional issues.

Rammell reaffirms Britain's adherence to the one-China policy.

The two ministers also exchanged views on UN reforms and the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
