National Library opens door to non-Beijingers
font size

China's National Library has lifted the regulation limiting non-Beijingers from borrowing books from the library.

The national body also cut most of its service charges.

The library has issued 360,000 cards so far, with half of the card holders allowed to borrow books from the library.

The number is expected to grow, as readers outside Beijing are now allowed to join.
