Five cities of London, Madrid, Moscow, New York and Paris have submitted their bids for the 2012 summer Olympic Games to the International Olympic Committee (IOC),it was announced by IOC on Monday.

Representatives from London and Madrid were at the IOC's headquarters in Lausanne Monday to present their bids. The other three cities sent their bid packages by mail.

In January there were nine cities submitted their applications for the Games, but the list was shortened in May when the IOC rejected bids from Havana, Istanbul, Leipzig and Rio de Janeiro.

The host city for the 2012 Olympic Games will be selected by a full IOC membership at a meeting in Singapore in July 2005.
