China lauds Wal-Mart's union decision
font size

China's leading trade union group says it will help multinationals in China including Wal-Mart to set up their own trade unions as soon as possible.

All-China Federation of Trade Unions applauds Wal-Mart's new decision to let its employees in China set up trade unions, China Radio International reported Thursday.

The unionist is also preparing to conduct a survey among the multinationals' employees about their opinions towards the trade union.

In October this year, China found out that a number of multinationals in China has not established trade unions.

The country's national union federation subsequently claimed possibility to sue Wal-Mart's violation against China's Trade Union Law.

Wal-Mart Stores, the world's largest retailer, has refused to establish trade unions in its branches around the world.

Only Canadian Wal-Mart employees have set up a trade union.
