China lauds Wal-Mart's union decisionChina's leading trade union group says it will help multinationals in China including Wal-Mart to set up their own trade unions as soon as possible. All-China Federation of Trade Unions applauds Wal-Mart's new decision to let its employees in China set up trade unions, China Radio International reported Thursday. The unionist is also preparing to conduct a survey among the multinationals' employees about their opinions towards the trade union. In October this year, China found out that a number of multinationals in China has not established trade unions. The country's national union federation subsequently claimed possibility to sue Wal-Mart's violation against China's Trade Union Law. Wal-Mart Stores, the world's largest retailer, has refused to establish trade unions in its branches around the world. Only Canadian Wal-Mart employees have set up a trade union. |
