Indian, Pakistani foreign secretaries to meet in Islamabad

Foreign Secretaries of India and Pakistan will meet in Islamabad on Dec. 22 to chalk out the schedule for the second round of the composite dialogue process on Kashmir and other outstanding issues, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported here Friday.

According to Indian External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh,Indian Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran and his Pakistani counterpart Riaz Khokhar are also expected to review progress in discussions held on various issues of the composite dialogue initiated in February this year.

These include peace and security covering confidence building measures, Siachen, Tulbul Navigation project, Sir Creek, terrorism and drug-trafficking and promotion of friendly exchanges.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who had "fruitful maiden interaction" with his Pakistani counterpart Shaukat Aziz here, will have an occasion to meet him again during the SAARC summit inDhaka in January, PTI said.

As part of high-level exchanges, Indian External Affairs Minister will visit Islamabad in February.
